2001 WTC Silver Eagle From the: World Trade Center Own a piece of historyLess than 43,000 coins graded Up for bids is a 2001 WTC Silver Eagle in Gem Uncirculated condition. It has been graded by PCGS's Collector's Universe as Gem Uncirculated. (It has also been certified as coming from Ground Zero at the World Trade Center.) A must for any dollar collector for a collection or for any historian! On 11/1/2001, workers at the destroyed World Trade Center site located and begun the recovery of gold, silver and platinum American Silver Eagles that had been buried in a COMEX vault beneath the rubble since the September 11 terrorist attacks. These eagles were stored with Iron Mountain Depository, an official COMEX depository. The coins were taken directly from the Iron Mountain Depository vaults to Collector's Universe (PCGS). Each of these unique, one of a kind historical coins was then certified for authenticity and sonically sealed by Collectors Universe to preserve their condition for future value.
