Chemist Bruce Nessett has agreed to let me offer his fabulous coin cleaning products on Ebay. Previously available only through two coin dealers, Zapping Crusty Ants is proud to be the first to sell Bruce's products to the general public! These are offered in 4-ounce packages--enough for several lots of coins. Gringgotts Wizard Mix #2: Quick simple cleaning of uncleaned coin. Designed to remove mud and clay from newly-acquired uncleaned coins. Mix 1 tablespoon in 2 cups of distilled water (the hotter the better)--for heavily coated coins, add another tablespoon of mix. The mix and coins may be boiled 3 to 5 minutes for more robust cleaning power. Simple dirt and softer clay will fully soften for easy removal after only 4 hours. It’s the most popular Gringgotts mix. All Gringgotts mixes are highly alkaline and should not be used in aluminum. Stainless steel or glass work just fine and are recommended. Plastic containers are fine for soaking the coins once the mix has cooled. The mixes are safe for all coin metals; however, coins such as Fourees that are plated may lose some plating during cleaning.
