We Do Not Like Scratched Coins At My Altar!! Now, if you have ever cleaned an ancient coin, you know how tough it can be to get through all of the caked on dirt and grime. Oily grime, clay-like grime, grime with lots of minerals in it, grime grime grime... Man, what do you do?? Do you soak your coins in chemicals to get that grime off? If you want to remove the coin's natural patina you do. But, if you are like me, and you use the softer and gentler method of distilled water, then you need a soft bristled brass brush like I use. I believe these are the best, and I recommend them highly. Here is the selling point: This brush has a lot of tiny bristles, packed closely together, helping it to deliver a softer blow as you rake it across the surface of your coins. I don't use that phrase lightly, because that is what you are doing. Do you want to rake a hard piece of brass across the face of your well-patinaed coin? NO!! You most definitely do not...
